Mohini painting- Raja Ravi varma

                                                                         mohini

Raja Ravi Varma (1848-1906) was famous artist from South India. Many of his paintings are preserved as precious collection. To have a rich look, business people buy such paintings and keep it in the reception hall, central hall of hotels, shops etc., His oil painting of Mohini is very enchanting. The thoughts of one's mind fly even faster than the swing of Mohini. It is not only romantic but also ever constructive and peaceful.
Fortunately I got one such old painting of Mohini. I would like to sell it out for the benefit of my children. Those who are really interested to by can contact me through e-mail ; maydhanam@gmail.com

Valuable straits settlement coins

Rare coins of straight settlement
Straits Settlements is a former British Crown colony on Asia's Malay Penninsula. Coins in 5, 10, 20, and 50 cent denominations all show the reigning British monarch (Victoria, Edward, George) on one side, and an encircled denomination on the other. These coins are silver.

The first series of Straits Settlements coins bearing the inscription “Straits Settlement” was issued in 1871. 5 Cents, 10 Cents and 20 Cents were introduced in 1871. In 1872 ¼ Cent, ½ Cent and 1 Cent were released into circulation. Silver 50 cents coins were first introduced in 1886. ¼ , ½ and 1 Cent coins were made by copper and bronze depending on their issuance year.

Raja Ravi Varma paintings- Indian Heritage

Raja Ravi Varma paintings- Indian Heritage
The pictures given here are 18 th century Indian traditional paintings by Raja Ravi Varma(1848-1906). He is famous for his paintings based on Indian Mythology and epics.Indian traditions was first mixed  by him with European academic art.He is mostly remembered for his paintings of sari-clad women. One of the paintings by Raja ravi Varma is Lord Vishnu. He is also known as Narayana and Hari. Lakshmi (God for wealth)is the wife of Vishnu.
Vishnu( the Supreme God  for Hindus)is suppoed to take manifest forms or avatars across various ages or periods to save humanity from evil beings, demons or Asuras, who became powerful after receiving boons from Shiva. According to the extant Hindu texts and traditions, Lord Vishnu is considered to be resident in the direction of the "Makara Rashi" (the "Shravana Nakshatra"), which is about coincident with the Capricorn constellation.

Ram Dharbar coin

Ram Dharbar coin

Very few  old coins are not only rare but also have some historical and ethical background. In this aspect the Ram Dharbar coin is the foremost and oldest of all.
Rama is well known as hero of Ramayana (an Indian ethics). He is supposed to be a standing example to the world how a man should be. By living, he conveyed some meaningful messages to the eternal society. A woman for a man, living as monogamy is always best to avoid AID, always be ready to fight against illegal activities and crime.
Ram Dharbar coin is the only remainder to keep this message among people. It is a picturesque piece.
It can be considered as a valuable gift of divinity. Possession of such a coin corrects oneself internally by generating good thoughts and guides in a right way externally.

I have a Ram Dharbar coin, the photo of which is herewith given for your view. It was kept in the prayer room of my grand parents. For the benefit of my children and grand children I want to sell it out. Those who are really interested to  buy may contact me though email:meydhanam@gmailcom.
