Queen stamps

Estimated value: US$488,900
Canada's 12 Pence Black was issued in 1851 and features a portrait of the youthful Queen Victoria. It is one of the most famous stamps in the world.
Altogether, 51,000 copies of the 12 Pence Black were printed, but due to its high denomination, only 1,450 copies were sold. The remaining unsold 49,550 copies of the stamp were taken off the market and destroyed in 1857. It is believed that about 100-150 pieces of this stamp exist today, but this is mere speculation.
In 2011, a brand new copy of the 12 Pence Black was auctioned off for US$488,900 in New York, USA.

Estimated value: US$5 million
The UK's 1840 issued Penny Black is the first stamp in the world. It was designed by Rowland Hill, who proposed the reform of the British postal system. He was called the Father of the Postage Stamp.
Before the Penny Black was issued, post offices had to take payments for mail delivery in cash. People had to wait in line to deliver every piece of mail. Postage was charged by the number of letter papers and the amount of distance traveled. Following Rowland Hill's suggestion, a letter was wrapped in an extra piece of paper (envelope) and an adhesive stamp was attached to indicate the prepayment of postage. The stamp was the Penny Black.
The picture in the stamp shows Queen Victoria, based on a sketch of her by William Wyon when she visited London in 1837. The Penny Black Stamp was only used for one year because the red cancellation mark was hard to spot on its black background. As a result of this, nine months later, the stamp was reprinted as a red stamp so that the black cancellation marks were easier to see and harder to remove.
The Penny Black was scheduled to be issued on May 6. However, in some cities, a number of the copies were issued on May 2. Only two pieces of the early issue can be found now and these are regarded as real treasures. A few years ago, a rich businessman bought a copy from a US auction house at the price of US$5 million.

The rarity and error in prints of the old and rare stamps determine its price In the entire stamp world British queen stamps are quite large in mumber, since many countries issued such stamps when they were under their colonization.Very fast progress in civilization  and scientific approach for their defence and offence helped them to conquer many nations and organized colonization worldover. The concept of ‘the survival of the fittest’  was pointed out by them to all the people..
The queen stamps are so beauty to look at.Some of the queen  stamps that I have are shown below.

Valuable straits settlement coins

Rare coins of straight settlement
Straits Settlements is a former British Crown colony on Asia's Malay Penninsula. Coins in 5, 10, 20, and 50 cent denominations all show the reigning British monarch (Victoria, Edward, George) on one side, and an encircled denomination on the other. These coins are silver.

The first series of Straits Settlements coins bearing the inscription “Straits Settlement” was issued in 1871. 5 Cents, 10 Cents and 20 Cents were introduced in 1871. In 1872 ¼ Cent, ½ Cent and 1 Cent were released into circulation. Raja Ravi Varma paintings- Indian Heritage

Raja Ravi Varma paintings- Indian Heritage
The pictures given here are 18 th century Indian traditional paintings by Raja Ravi Varma(1848-1906). He is famous for his paintings based on Indian Mythology and epics.Indian traditions was first mixed  by him with European academic art.He is mostly remembered for his paintings of sari-clad women. One of the paintings by Raja ravi Varma is Lord Vishnu. He is also known as Narayana and Hari. Lakshmi (God for wealth)is the wife of Vishnu.
Vishnu( the Supreme God  for Hindus)is suppoed to take manifest forms or avatars across various ages or periods to save humanity from evil beings, demons or Asuras, who became powerful after receiving boons from Shiva. According to the extant Hindu texts and traditions, Lord Vishnu is considered to be resident in the direction of the "Makara Rashi" (the "Shravana Nakshatra"), which is about coincident with the Capricorn constellation.

Ram Dharbar coin

Ram Dharbar coin

Very few  old coins are not only rare but also have some historical and ethical background. In this aspect the Ram Dharbar coin is the foremost and oldest of all.
Rama is well known as hero of Ramayana (an Indian ethics). He is supposed to be a standing example to the world how a man should be. By living, he conveyed some meaningful messages to the eternal society. A woman for a man, living as monogamy is always best to avoid AID, always be ready to fight against illegal activities and crime.
Ram Dharbar coin is the only remainder to keep this message among people. It is a picturesque piece.
It can be considered as a valuable gift of divinity. Possession of such a coin corrects oneself internally by generating good thoughts and guides in a right way externally.

I have a Ram Dharbar coin, the photo of which is herewith given for your view. It was kept in the prayer room of my grand parents. For the benefit of my children and grand children I want to sell it out. Those who are really interested to  buy may contact me though email:meydhanam@gmailcom.
